The 43 DS is a sailboat for comfortable offshore cruising, and it is one of Jeanneau’s most popular models. It was introduced two years ago and has been a winner for the company ever since. A well-made production boat, manufactured in France, the Sun Odyssey 43 DS is spacious and well-appointed inside and out. Very competitively priced, the boat still contains enough quality signals and offers an appropriate variety of “upscale” options to feel luxurious.
The Cockpit is designed for convenience. Standing behind the center-wheel Helm Station, everything is within reach. An electrified winch for the Main Halyard, an in-mast furling mainsail and furling system with 135 percent genoa make this an easy boat for two people to handle. Add optional electrified jib winch and bow thrusters for even greater convenience.
Teak seating and flooring accent the cockpit. A wide walk-around leads to a stainless steel bow pulpit. The decks are standard non-skid; optional teak decking is available. A nice touch are the port and starboard integrated, teak-laid single steps leading from the deck to the cockpit. The helm pedestal comes equipped with twin sided fold-up table leafs generous enough to support comfortable entertaining or al fresco dining.
Storage areas are everywhere, hidden under the built-in seating. A stern
Garage, accessed from the swim platform, works well to hold an optional generator
and/or cooling system.
